The Soprema product portfolio includes; bituminous, hot-melt, synthetic and liquid waterproofing systems, including all ancillary components and finishes. SOPREMA UK, based in Essex, are looking for a new Field Technician to join their experienced technical team.

 

The successful candidate will have gained extensive on-site experience within the construction and roofing industries, strong health and safety awareness, competent IT skills and excellent communication skills. This role requires the candidate to work closely with our Approved Contractors, be able to work on own initiative and have the ability to prioritise and manage time effectively.

 

Comprehensive product and application training in the Soprema range of waterproofing, surfacing and protection solutions will be provided. However, experience in multiple waterproofing disciplines would be advantageous. Site inspections, workmanship reporting, product installation training and providing technical support to Soprema UK’s approved contractors will form the main duties of the role.

As Purchasing Manager you will be responsible for ordering and logistics of, goods purchased from within Soprema Group. The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple product ranges, manufactured at locations within mainland Europe and North America. The role will be based at our UK Head Office in Essex.

 

Responsibilities

 - Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies
 - Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
 - Negotiate and build working relationships with Soprema Group counterparts
 - Forecast to be produced upon stock requirements
 - Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
 - Assess, manage and mitigate risks
 - Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
 - Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand for order planning

 


Requirements

 - Proven working experience as purchasing Manager
 - Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management
 - Interest in market dynamics along with business sense
 - A knack for negotiation and networking
 - Ability to communicate with people at all levels
 - Working experience of ERP software
 - Ability to gather and analyse data and to work with figures
 - Solid judgement along with decision making skills
 - Strong leadership capabilities
 - Skills in excel communication, confident user of microsoft office applications including excel

The candidate must be able to demonstrate their skill in balancing immediate technical ability and excellent customer support skills. The ideal candidate for this role will have an in depth understanding of the flat roofing, insulation and waterproofing sectors, with CAD experience.

 

Key Responsibilities


• Writing technical specifications.
• Providing bespoke and standard CAD details for project stakeholders.
• Providing technical support and advice to architects, surveyors and contractors alike.
• Managing the warranty issue process.
• Develop the client base and increase turnover.

The candidate must be able to demonstrate their skill in balancing immediate technical ability within the waterproofing industry and also understand the commercial requirements and values with longer term relationships and needs. The ideal candidate for this role will have an in depth understanding of the new build construction sector and a proven track record in business development and technical product sales.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Increasing sales of Flagon single-ply and Duoflex structural waterproofing systems within the new build sector to meet sales objectives.
• Build and develop relationships with key project stake holders and specifiers.
• Close new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.
• Providing written specifications along with supporting documentation.
• Develop the client base and increase turnover.
