When it comes to waterproofing roofs, roofing felt forms an integral layer of protection. 1. SOPRATORCH Roofing Felt
The SOPRATORCH range consists of torch-on bituminous waterproofing solutions specifically developed for the UK flat roofing market. This range of specialist products is exclusively available via our network of SOPREMA Approved Stockists and distributors. It consists of two SBS modified bitumen capsheets: SOPRATOCH SL 400 and SOPRATOCH SL 500 (both reinforced with composite polyester), and a range of underlayers to complement them. In addition, SOPREMA manufactures a highly UV-resistant APP membrane: SOPRATORCH SG400, as well as three underlayers to go with it.
SOPRATORCH capsheets can be used as an upper layer for single-layer waterproofing systems, or in build-up systems with a vapour control layer, a layer of insulation, and a two-layer system on top of the insulation. SOPRATORCH is compatible with ALSAN 601 as a liquid detailing product.
2. MORTERPLAS Roofing Felt
MORTERPLAS has been developed to meet the need of builders’ merchants and general builders. MORTERPLAS FP and FPV are plastomeric bitumen-based waterproofing membranes with non-woven polyester felt reinforcement and excellent static and dynamic puncturing resistance. MORTERPLAS SBS FPV, in turn, are waterproofing membranes made of SBS bitumen. With MORTERPLAS complementing our SOPRATORCH range, we are able to keep our roofing felt products in the right cost bracket for the customer.
Like SOPRATORCH, the MORTERPLAS range consists of torch-on roofing felt, offers options for single layer as well as a multi-layer waterproofing systems, and is compatible with a torch-free liquid detailing product such as ALSAN 601.
3. SOPRALENE Roofing Felt
Finally, SOPREMA has an elastomeric waterproofing range called SOPRALENE, which provides both torch-applied and self-adhesive options, and includes a complete offering of:
- primers: SOPRADERE QUICK or the solvent-free, non-toxic primer AQUADERE (which contains no volatile organic compounds)
- vapour barriers and vapour control layers
- compatible insulation for both flat and tapered roofs, as well as non-combustible insulation solutions
- a range of underlayers dependent on the substrate type
- three main capsheets which determine the warranty length:
- SOPRALENE FLAM 180 AF, which comes with a 20-year warranty
- SOPRALENE FLAM 250 AF, for which a 25-year warranty is the standard
- SOPRALENE OPTIMA, which has a 30-year warranty
- ALSAN 770 TX compliments the range to provide a flame-free installation.
The SOPRALENE SBS bitumen membranes are BBA certified and FM approved . They are manufactured according to the principles of sustainable construction and provide superior resistance and waterproofing longevity for roofing applications.
