SOPREMA’s Roofing Certificates: Tokens Of Reliability

SOPREMA’s exceptionally wide range of durable waterproofing  and insulation products have gained the trust of construction professionals all over the globe. Yet the vastness and durability of our range are not the only characteristics we have to thank for this worldwide trust instilled in us. Equally important are our R&D and other experts who keep their finger on the pulse, as the system of roofing certificates and regulations continue to be updated and refined. Read on to find out how we go about this and what it means for our product lines – and for your peace of mind.

Proud Member Of Various Trade Associations

At SOPREMA, we believe in connecting with other organisations who share our values and goals, such as addressing environmental challenges and making the construction industry safer. Hence our membership of – and partnership with – leading bodies such as the Liquid Roofing and Waterproofing Association (LRWA), the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC) and the Single Ply Roofing Association (SPRA). We attend technical meetings with all three of these organisations, which set out standards and offer guidance, upon installation and conformity on what should be done regarding, for instance, Safe2Torch.

NHBC Certificates: BBA-Certified Products

All SOPREMA product ranges are BBA-certified: the British Board of Agrément, as an independent third party, has assessed them against UK building regulations and deemed them fit-for-purpose. The BBA certifications are our quality assurance to you, ensuring that our product is suitable for the intended use. Moreover, they offer clarity regarding each product’s life expectancy.

The National House Building Council or NHBC requires roofing systems to have “certification confirming satisfactory assessment, undertaken by an independent technical authority” such as the British Board of Agrément. Hence, as our ranges carry BBA-certification, our products are guaranteed to be accepted under the NHBC Buildmark Cover.

BROOF(t4): Fire safety With SOPREMA

We design solutions in line with British standards and offer over 200 waterproofing systems that are BROOF(t4) compliant, including bituminousstructuralliquid and synthetic waterproofing solutions The BROOF(t4) class rating indicates the highest performance for roofs and roof coverings exposed to external fire, with tests proving that there is no penetration of the roof system within sixty minutes, among other criteria.

BRE rating For Two XPS Boards

Lastly, BREEAM or the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method is one of the most widely used methods for assessing the sustainability of building materials. SOPREMA is proud of its Green Guide A-rating for SOPRA XPS SL and SOPRA XPS 500 thermal insulation, which have been carefully assessed in terms of their (minimal) environmental impact from cradle to grave.
